Assessment billing

Psychological assessments are billed progressively rather than as one lump-sum charge. Clients receive an invoice following each assessment session. The invoice for the report-writing portion of the assessment is issued when the written report is provided.

Many comprehensive assessments cost approximately $2,000–$4,000 depending on the question and agreed scope.

BrainLab explains the anticipated work and approximate cost before assessment begins. If a material change may affect the fee, it is discussed before additional work proceeds.

Insurance and benefits

Coverage depends on your policy, the professional category, referral or pre-approval requirements and plan maximums. Confirm coverage directly with your insurer before proceeding; BrainLab cannot guarantee reimbursement.

Coverage in Nunavut

Funding and insurance arrangements vary by program and jurisdiction. Nunavut residents should confirm coverage for the proposed assessment before proceeding. BrainLab does not represent that a particular program will cover psychological assessment.

Funding resources

Use the Ontario Funding Navigator to separate possible assessment payment from related-service funding and documentation programs. A named program is not a promise that it will pay for a BrainLab service.

Payment and invoices

For appointment-based services, payment is due following the appointment.

Invoices are issued following assessment sessions and other billable appointments. The invoice for the report-writing portion of a psychological assessment is issued when the written report is provided. Invoices may be submitted to an insurer or funding source where applicable.

Accepted methods include Interac Debit, Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Debit Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Cancellation policy

Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged at 75% of the clinician’s hourly fee. Contact BrainLab as soon as possible in an emergency.
